Information We Collect

Account Information

When using our application, you will be prompted to log in with your Google account. We DO NOT collect any information or create an account on our system. We only use your Google account to authenticate you and provide a seamless login experience but we do not store any information about your Google account. As we do not store any information about your Google account, we do not have a retention policy for this data as this data is never stored or processed on our servers and only exists in your local browser cache. As such we do not have an account deletion policy as we do not store any information about your Google account or any user settings.

Usage Data

We collect anonymous usage data such as feature usage, session duration, and performance metrics to help us improve the application. This data is aggregated and does not include any personally identifiable information.

Your Content

Importantly, your manuscripts, drafts, character information, and other creative work are stored locally on your device and are NOT stored on or transmitted through our servers. We believe your creative work should remain private and under your control.

Local Storage

Spinneret.Studio primarily uses your browser's local storage and IndexedDB to store your writing projects, settings, and preferences directly on your device. This means:

  • Your writing remains on your device and is not uploaded to our servers
  • You maintain full control and ownership of your content
  • Your work is available offline

Use of AI Services

If you choose to use AI features in Spinneret.Studio, we may send your content to third-party AI providers (like OpenAI/Athropic/Google Gemini) for processing. However, we do not store or log this data. Here’s how it works:

  • When you use AI features, your content is sent to the AI provider for processing
  • The AI provider processes your content and returns the results to you
  • We do not store or log any of your content or the results returned by the AI provider
  • We do not have access to your content or the results returned by the AI provider
  • We do not share your content with any third-party AI providers
  • We do not have a retention policy for this data as this data is never stored or processed on our servers
  • We do not and cannot use any of your data or manuscripts to reinforcement training of any Spinneret Controlled AI Models - Please refer to the privacy policy of your chosen AI provider to understand how they use their data.

If you use the Spinneret Ollama Bridge:

  • All AI processing happens locally on your device
  • Your content never leaves your computer
  • No data is sent to our servers or to any third-party AI providers
  • None of your data is ever sent to a Spinneret Controlled Server and never used to train any models

Analytics

We use anonymous analytics to understand how our application is used. This helps us improve features and fix bugs. The analytics data includes:

  • Feature usage statistics (which features are used most)
  • Performance data (load times, errors)
  • Device and browser information

This data is anonymized and cannot be linked back to your specific manuscripts or creative content.

Use of Google Account Data

We use Google's OAuth 2.0 API (Google Workspace API) to authenticate users and provide a seamless login experience. When you log in with Google, the Spinneret.Studio application accesses your Google account data as follows:

  • Your Google account email address
  • Your Google account profile picture
  • Your Google account display name
  • Your Google Drive Application Storage (to sync your manuscripts and settings)
  • Your Google Drive Access (To display how much free space is in your Google Drive Storage)

This data is used solely for the purpose of authenticating your Google account, providing a seamless login experience and facilitate the data synchronization of your settings and manuscripts to Google Drive. Spinneret.Studio does not store, process, or log any other data from your Google account.

Data Retention and Deletion of Google Account Data

Data Retention: We do not retain any Google user data on our servers. All Google account information is only stored temporarily in your local browser cache during your active session and is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Data Deletion: Since we do not store any Google user data on our servers, there is no data to delete from our systems when you stop using our application. You can revoke access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account settings, which immediately terminates our application's ability to access your Google account data.

Use of Google Workspace APIs and AI/ML Models

We explicitly affirm that we do not use any data obtained through Google Workspace APIs to develop, improve, or train generalized Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning (ML) models. Any data accessed through Google Workspace APIs is used solely for the purposes described in this privacy policy and is not stored, processed, or utilized in any way for AI/ML model training or development.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect any data we do collect. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure however as we do not store or collect any personal data we have limited our exposure to data breaches.

Third-Party Services

Our application may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services.

Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
